I have been knitting the Cedar Leaf Shawlette for some time now. I mean, I think I started it in 2010 or something. The main part went quick, but then I had to start the leaves. The never ending leaves. All 31 of them. Might as well have been 120 of them, because thats what it felt like to me. They were just never ending. It was to be a gift for a friend that has had multiple neck surgeries and has a lot of pain because of it. I knit her a cowl that she wears all the time, and I wanted to make her something more…pretty. Well, today is that friend’s birthday and its FINALLY DONE! Yes, it will make its way to her a couple days late, but its done!
The yarn is Malabrigo Yarn Silky Merino in the color way Tatami. I used almost 2 skeins. Its very soft, and has a slight shine to the knitted fabric. I thought the silk/merino blend would feel nice against her neck and also keep her toasty warm. The color is a medium tan color with a hint of variation into a darker tan. I can’t wait for her to get it!
